About

Hi, my name is Daniel Chang and I'm a 17 year old graphic designer and aspiring filmmaker from Potomac, Maryland. I currently attend Walt Whitman High School and I will be studying Film and TV production at The School of Visual Arts in New York City.

I think that most of what has inspired me growing as an artist has always been present in movies. Storytelling through something as imaginative as film is incredible. Whether it's a simple youtube video or a feature film in theaters, the way people express themselves in film is always unique to all the people who have touched it.

I truly believe that life can be made more beautiful behind the lens of a camera. There are stories all around us and the way people are able to capture them and project onto a screen is something that I sincerely value. Film has had such a pervasive impact on my daily life, it has completely changed the way I view my everyday interactions.

I admire film for its ability to portray and resemble the stresses and aspirations of everyday people; It is a form of creative expression that can be used to educate, entertain, and even serve as a catalyst for social change. Film has become what I identify as, I can’t imagine a society without it. Everything from its visual presentation and ability to connect with the viewer, it has become a part of me, and I wish to do it for the rest of my life.
